Throughout the year, GVIS proudly supports numerous events, showcasing many of the visualizations created within the lab! Here is a list of the past events GVIS attended.

Girls Take Flight – April 13, 2024

A Girls Scout event hosted at Case Western Reserve University. The GVIS Lab had a chance to demonstrate a variety of visualizations to 100 Girl Scouts

Eclipse Festival – April 8 through 10, 2024

The NASA Glenn Research Center hosted a large Eclipse Festival and the GVIS was there in 3 of the tents!

Cleveland Museum of Natural History “Lights Out” Event – April 4, 2024

Over 600 attendees had a chance to experience some of the GVIS visualizations at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History “Lights Out” Event.

Monsters Hockey STEM Day – March 30, 2024

The GVIS Lab was at the Monsters Hockey STEM Day showing off some of their visualizations in the concourse.

Cuyahoga County Public Library STEAM Expo – March 16, 2024

The GVIS Lab supported the Cuyahoga County Public Library at their STEAM Expo.

AwesomeCon 2024 – March 8-10 – Washington DC

The GVIS Lab provided a display for the NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate’s booth at AwesomeCon 2024.

Monster Truck Jam – February 16 and 17, 2024

In collaboration with the NASA Glenn Research Center Office of Public Engagement, the GVIS Lab provided displays for the Monster Jam attendees as the came to attend the event.

Cleveland Air Show – September 4, 2023

On Labor Day weekend, the Cleveland Air show took flight! As one of the country’s oldest and most esteemed annual air shows, the Cleveland National Air Show boasts a rich history, spanning from the National Air Races of 1929-1949 to the present-day Air Show since 1964. This year, GVIS joined the excitement, proudly showcasing a dazzling array of visualizations crafted within our lab.

Aviation Day – September 13, 2023

Cleveland hosted NASA Aviation Day on September 13, which was a free event open to the public. This event showcased various aviation projects, including the Quesst mission, electrified aircraft propulsion, and sustainable aviation technologies. Attendees explored NASA-devolved technology and interacted with displays.  Additionally, there were informative panel sessions that shed light on NASA’s efforts to advance commercial air travel, making this event beneficial for individuals, students, and professionals, alike.

Ingenuity Festival – September 22 & 23, 2023

The IngenuityFest 2023: Biologies & Geologies was a celebration of our planet’s resources and innovations. This year’s Fest explored how human creativity impacts communities across land, air, and water, emphasizing environmental stewardship, sustainability, and invention. Attendees experienced crystal caverns, aquatic landscapes, and other captivating features, combining elements of whimsy and a deep commitment to these important causes.

Girls In Aviation Day – September 30, 2023

Women in Aviation International (WAI) is a nonprofit organization committed to promoting and advancing women across aviation and aerospace sectors. This event showcased diverse aviation careers and provided opportunities to meet female pilots, air traffic controllers, engineers, and to gain insights into achieving aviation aspirations. Attendees engaged in hands-on STEM activates and explored aircraft.

FutureLAND – October 5 & 6, 2023

FutureLAND stands as an annual multi-day conference dedicated to celebrating the rich tapestry of technology, arts, and culture. The conference embodied a dynamic movement led by visionary entrepreneurs, fueled by their shared mission.

All In For Tech Day – October 10, 2023

This year’s event was an invitation to the IT professionals’ community, urging them to unite for networking, knowledge-sharing, and personal development alongside their peers and the larger tech community.  The event featured David Pogue as the keynote speaker.

Full STEAM Ahead 2023 – October 17, 2023

The Full STEAM Ahead event was opened to students only! This event was through the Challenger Center, who used space-themed simulated learning environments to engage students in dynamic, hands-on opportunities.

NASA Langley Open House – October 21, 2023

NASA’s Langley Research Center invited the public to see where aerospace history was created and where the triumphs of tomorrow are taking shape now. Additionally, the open house featured Artemis II astronaut Victor J. Glover. GVIS showcased the X-59 Flight Simulation Chair to showcase to the guests.

Family Day – November 11, 2023

The Cleveland History Center is hosting an event for whomever you call family. Attendees may explore the museum, ride the carousel, take some time for stories and games, or build their own University Circle adventure.

Library Arcade – November 11, 2023

Cuyahoga County Public Library is celebrating all things video game related! All-ages are welcomed to experience a variety of consoles and gaming systems.

Think & Drink With The Extinct – December 21, 2023

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is excited to announce to bring back Think & Drink with the Extinct! This event, for those 21 and over, welcomes science enthusiasts to spend an evening at the Museum, diving into recent finding with their team of experts.
